“All of you are Christ’s body and each one is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27
Pastoral Care Ministry was very dear to Jesus during His three years of public ministry. Many sick people came or were brought to Him for healing. Today, St. Felicitas Parish continues to embrace this call of Jesus to minister to the sick members of our community.
We have pastoral care ministers visiting the sick in the hospital, homebound and care centers on a daily basis. We are sent to the community to bring Holy Communion, as well as the prayers and love of the community to the sick, reminding them that they are loved by God and are important members of the parish community. On special occasions and celebrations, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and birthdays, students of St. Felicitas School pray especially for them and make beautiful greeting cards for them. Pastoral care ministers form the link between the worshipping community/school and the sick or homebound person. Pastoral Care Ministry also supports bereaved families by offering encouragement and prayerful support in the course of moving toward healing and acceptance. Following-up support is provided to bereaved families through letters, gatherings, phone calls, and/or visits.
