By diocesan regulation, arrangements for weddings must be made at least six months prior to the date of the marriage. This amount of time is required to reserve the Church, plan the ceremony, and attend approved Evenings for the Engaged program.
Diocesan policy, regarding those under their 20th birthday by the date of the marriage, requires interviews with the parish priest or deacon and a professional counselor, and approval by the bishop’s office before a wedding date can be reserved.
